Betting: Off the Top

Bet more than one unit off the top a fair percentage of the time. Don’t do it every time, so if studied, it doesn’t appear like a mechanical foil. Do it a fair percentage of the time, and vary between two and three units so that surveillance sees more than a minimum wager following the shuffle. A lot depends on the form of slot machine. The negative expectation of these wagers will cost you a few dollars over the course of a year. But it’s money well spent if it ends up buying you a few more maximum bets somewhere along the way.
